An exciting addition to accesstel’s suite of products is our partner Westell’s Remote RMX-4000. An upgrade to the RMX-3200, this new edge gateway now offers a wireless sensor capability.

Although this unit is lighter and slightly smaller than the previous model, it certainly packs a bigger punch. Built-in Bluetooth allows for wireless configuration via iOS and Android applications.

Support for wireless sensors is a first for the Westell series of edge gateways, which has us all excited about the benefits we can offer our customers. It goes without saying that this is an ideal platform for IoT applications.

‘Our customers asked for wireless capability, and we are excited to be able to offer it to them.’ said Danie Blom, Managing Director of accesstel.

No matter the size of your network, the RMX-4000 is a scalable platform that can be configured to suit your requirements. With an increased number of Ethernet ports, this edge gateway allows you to connect more IP-capable devices and eliminates the need for expansion units. Exciting highlights include:

  • 14 Ethernet and 34 I/O ports;
  • 2 SFP slots which allow the use of optical backhaul;
  • 4 PoE ports for devices such as IP cameras and Westell’s RMB alarm collectors;
  • 2 SiteBus ports providing access to low-cost sensors and relay outputs; and
  • Integrated WiFi, Bluetooth and 4G LTE connectivity options.

With the RMX-4000, accesstel can help you monitor and manage your distributed networks of critical assets. We care about great outcomes for our customers. We solve business problems, realise opportunities and find efficiencies that deliver real value for your business.
